Inspirers for Peace and Development Organization (IPDO) is a Sudanese, women-led, development, human rights, humanitarian, and advocacy NGO. Non-partisan and not-for-profit, IPDO works to advance the rights of women and girls. Established in January 2023, IPDO completed its first year of operation in January 2024. IPDO envisions a world where everyone, particularly women, participates as equal members of society, has access to quality reproductive healthcare, and can make decisions free from discrimination and coercion. The organization tackles the root causes of rights violations, disempowerment, and discrimination against women, girls, and other vulnerable groups, including people with disabilities, the elderly, and those of concern, helping them achieve their potential. IPDO actively includes civil society organizations (CSOs) in its projects to foster collective impact. The organization is currently working with the Women with Disability Association (WDA) as part of an 18- month peacebuilding project funded by UN Women. Additionally, IPDO is strengthening the capacity of all disability associations in Al-Gedarif, including those for hearing, visual, physical, and intellectual impairments. This includes policy development, due diligence, document preparation, staff and volunteer training, and infrastructure support. IPDO conducts direct capacity-building workshops and integrates these associations into its activities, while also hosting and supporting those lacking offices to build their organizational foundations. Amid the ongoing war in Sudan, women, girls, and children face heightened vulnerabilities. IPDO is committed to leveraging all possible resources to support these groups. Despite the challenges of working in disadvantaged communities, the organization creates networks with community-based institutions and resource persons to educate about the rights of women, girls, and children, while strengthening their capacity to protect, prevent, and respond to challenges, enabling them to overcome the impacts of war. Recognizing that gender inequalities hinder sustainable development, IPDO seeks to advance gender equality through programs that address the diverse needs of vulnerable groups. The organization employs gender-transformative approaches for lasting impact and works closely with communities to tackle the root causes of inequality. IPDO advocates for policies promoting gender equality and conducts research to identify innovative solutions. It promotes sustainable social and economic development for women and girls, ensuring they enjoy their full rights. In fragile and non-permissive environments, IPDO implements emergency interventions to address the urgent needs of women, girls, and children in areas such as health, nutrition, WASH, protection, food security, and livelihoods. By adopting an integrated approach, IPDO ensures effective service delivery through collaboration with INGOs, national and local NGOs, CSOs, and other humanitarian actors. A results-oriented organization, IPDO meticulously manages its programs to maximize impact with limited resources. Beneficiaries are central to its work and are frequently consulted, informed, and engaged throughout the project lifecycle.
